Dieser Workshop bietet Raum und Zeit die Wesensprinzipien der Contact Improvisation kennenzulernen, zu erforschen und vielfältig zu vertiefen.
Er ist für Menschen ohne Vorkenntnisse in CI konzipiert sowie für Menschen, die sich nach einer Pause einen Wiedereinstieg wünschen.
Im Mittelpunkt steht die eigene Körperorganisation, alleine und im Kontakt:
Wie bewege ich mich mühelos und im sanften Zusammenspiel mit dem Boden?
Wie unterstützt mich ein tiefes Verständnis von Getragensein in meiner Qualität zu fliegen?
Wie lese und nutze ich die Schwerkraft, um Leichtigkeit in meinem Tanz mit Gewicht zu ermöglichen?

Im Kontakt erleben und verstehen wir die differenzierte Kommunikation in der Contact Improvisation, das Spiel der Schwerkraft wird spürbar, ein Tanz voller Möglichkeiten und Inspiration eröffnet sich.

Elske Seidel (Berlin)
ist eine global vernetzte und international engagierte Contact Lehrerin, Tänzerin und Bewegungsforscherin. Sie unterrichtet seit über drei Jahrzehnten kontinuierlich und von ganzem Herzen Tanz und Improvisation, Contact seit 2004.
Ihre Hauptforschungsfrage 'Das Wesen von Tanz und seine Vermittlung' motiviert seit Beginn ihres Studiums 1992 bis zum heutigen Tag den Kern ihrer Arbeit.

Elske hat eine unerschöpfliche Faszination Contact Improvisation in ihren Feinheiten und ihrer Tiefe zu erforschen und öffnet dafür den Raum und das Bewusstsein in ihrem Unterricht. Ihr Tanz und ihre Forschung sind getragen von ihrer Arbeit in der Natur, als Quelle für Wissen und Inspiration.

Einige ihrer Projekte sind: Contact Jahresgruppe Berlin, Contactjahr Hamburg, CI Basis Fortbildung Hamburg, Nature as Teacher Workshops (CI in der Natur und im Wasser), Contact Practice Retreat.

This workshop allows space and time to experience, explore and deepen the fundamentals of Contact Improvisation. We will look at essential movement principles and specific techniques that support us in finding ease and flow in our movement in solo and with a partner.

When dancing Contact Improvisation we are communicating through the skin – listening into a shared point of contact – together following gravity. Understanding the language more clearly, allows us to gradually discover the depth and subtleties, opening up a field of possibilities and inspiration. As we meet in a conversation with gravity, we notice and honor what we need to feel safe and comfortable in our practice of CI.

In this workshop we will lay the ground, preparing our bodies, researching ease in movement, building skills, learning about touch, enjoying body-time, and enter the fascination of improvisation and play.

Elske Seidel
based in Berlin, is a passionate movement researcher, CI dancer & teacher, deeply committed to CI and its community internationally. She has been teaching dance and improvisation full time and wholeheartedly for over three decades, CI since 2004.
She holds a master's in Sport Science, Education and English from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Her core research question 'the essence of dance, it's teaching and improvisation as a vital inspirational art within it's unfolding' expands from her early days at University until the present.
Her boundless fascination and joy exploring and researching Contact Improvisation in all its depth and subtleties, inspires her workshops, privates, ongoing classes, and each of the projects she creates.
Her work recognizes nature as a core source for knowledge, understanding and inspiration. Meeting the moment, she offers organic support for the individual and the instant community as it emerges, allowing each to feel, find and follow what they need to enjoy dancing.
She teaches the annual CI training program: Contact Jahresgruppe Berlin. She co- creates Contactjahr Hamburg, CI BASIC Training Program Hamburg and the Contact Practice Retreat.
