Sie ist fester Bestandteil meiner Unterrichtstätigkeit und jedes Jahr für alle Beteiligten eine bereichernde, spannende und nährende Zeit. Das gemeinsame Eintauchen in die Contact Improvisation als konstante Gruppe ermöglicht ein vertieftes Lernen in vertrauensvoller Atmosphäre. Wir werden ausgiebig tanzen, gemütliche Zeit verbringen, spannenden Fragen nachgehen, Persönliches austauschen und das Zusammensein nutzen, um sowohl auf individueller Ebene Fortschritte zu machen als auch ein besseres Verständnis für das Gruppengeschehen im Jam-Raum mit seinen unterschiedlichen Dynamiken zu erlangen. BEYOND DUETS Contact Improvisation Summer Intensive with Joerg Hassmann 18.-24.07.2026 @Tanzfabrik Kreuzberg, Berlin * For experienced contacters * Max 35 participants The duet is the core constellation of Contact Improvisation and will be a central base in this workshop. We love the clarity of relating to one person - being in dialogue, negotiating weight, direction and dynamics while hearts attune. It holds both simplicity and complexity, and we will dive deeply into the technical aspects of this form. The mysterious web of satisfying jamming though needs more than that. Soloing and trios are the base for expanding beyond the common duet bubbles. Trios bring unpredictability, surprise and compositional challenges - the beauty of problem-solving in motion. There is a dynamic to trios that asks for calmness, ease and simplicity in order to let go into the openness. For decades I shied away from trios in my teaching. Now the desire for it is surfacing. We’ll focus on the solo, duets and trios topic in the first half of the workshop and we want to see what’s emerging from what happened - or didn’t happen - in the first three days, during the second half of the workshop. Each day will include a lab during which we can draw from the vast knowledge that many of the teachers and long term contacters bring to the space. How can we give feedback to support each other on our growing edges? While technical labs are always a great option, we’d like to also encourage more curiosity in how the solo body organises and establish soft skill labs that focus more on listening, emotional availability or courageous choice-making. --- We, Joerg & Dino, are excited to invite you to another CI Summer Intensive in Berlin. More than in previous years, we want to tap into the collective knowledge and experience within the group, as many participants are teachers and long-term practitioners. We aim to shape this workshop in a more collaborative way, fostering a stronger sense of shared responsibility and self-efficacy. We are interested in exploring formats that allow everyone to engage more actively beyond fixed roles, e.g. by contributing to daily CI labs, collaborating in the preparation and demonstration of material together with Joerg, or supporting one another through emotionally challenging moments. April 2026 PHYNIXtanzt Berlin *zum Anfangen und Wiederentdecken Dieser Workshop bietet Raum und Zeit die Wesensprinzipien der Contact Improvisation kennenzulernen, zu erforschen und vielfältig zu vertiefen. Er ist für Menschen ohne Vorkenntnisse in CI konzipiert sowie für Menschen, die sich nach einer Pause einen Wiedereinstieg wünschen. Im Mittelpunkt steht die eigene Körperorganisation, alleine und im Kontakt: Wie bewege ich mich mühelos und im sanften Zusammenspiel mit dem Boden? Wie unterstützt mich ein tiefes Verständnis von Getragensein in meiner Qualität zu fliegen? Wie lese und nutze ich die Schwerkraft, um Leichtigkeit in meinem Tanz mit Gewicht zu ermöglichen? Im Kontakt erleben und verstehen wir die differenzierte Kommunikation in der Contact Improvisation, das Spiel der Schwerkraft wird spürbar, ein Tanz voller Möglichkeiten und Inspiration eröffnet sich. Hinterhof – 3. Etage Elske Seidel (Berlin) ist eine global vernetzte und international engagierte Contact Lehrerin, Tänzerin und Bewegungsforscherin. Sie unterrichtet seit über drei Jahrzehnten kontinuierlich und von ganzem Herzen Tanz und Improvisation, Contact seit 2004. Ihre Hauptforschungsfrage 'Das Wesen von Tanz und seine Vermittlung' motiviert seit Beginn ihres Studiums 1992 bis zum heutigen Tag den Kern ihrer Arbeit. Elske hat eine unerschöpfliche Faszination Contact Improvisation in ihren Feinheiten und ihrer Tiefe zu erforschen und öffnet dafür den Raum und das Bewusstsein in ihrem Unterricht. We will look at essential movement principles and specific techniques that support us in finding ease and flow in our movement in solo and with a partner. When dancing Contact Improvisation we are communicating through the skin – listening into a shared point of contact – together following gravity. Understanding the language more clearly, allows us to gradually discover the depth and subtleties, opening up a field of possibilities and inspiration. As we meet in a conversation with gravity, we notice and honor what we need to feel safe and comfortable in our practice of CI. In this workshop we will lay the ground, preparing our bodies, researching ease in movement, building skills, learning about touch, enjoying body-time, and enter the fascination of improvisation and play. She holds a master's in Sport Science, Education and English from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Her core research question 'the essence of dance, it's teaching and improvisation as a vital inspirational art within it's unfolding' expands from her early days at University until the present. Her boundless fascination and joy exploring and researching Contact Improvisation in all its depth and subtleties, inspires her workshops, privates, ongoing classes, and each of the projects she creates. Her work recognizes nature as a core source for knowledge, understanding and inspiration. Meeting the moment, she offers organic support for the individual and the instant community as it emerges, allowing each to feel, find and follow what they need to enjoy dancing. Liebe Contact Tanzende, am kommenden Samstag, 11.4. findet mein nächster Contact Tanztag in Bonn statt. An diesem Samstag werden wir im Workshop auf Matten tanzen und werden diese u.a. zum Thema Fallen nutzen und um uns an mittlere und obere Ebenen heranzuwagen. Ausserdem möchte ich wieder mal eine theoretische Einführung (talk through) in den Underscore geben und freue mich über eine kurze Info/Anmeldung dafür. Der Workshop ist offen für alle Level, Neulinge willkommen genauso wie für Leute zum Auffrischen, Wiederholen und Vertiefen. *Nächster Contact Tanztag Workshop Grundlagen tanzen Einführung in den Underscore & Underscorejam Samstag, 11. Die Wiederholung schärft unsere gemeinsame Improvisationssprache! Bei Zweifel gerne kurz Rückmeldung mit mir, danke. Wir werden uns am Vormittag weiter die Wesensprinzipien von Contact Improvisation ertanzen und vertiefen. Wir werden auf den Matten tanzen und das Thema wird voraussichtlich Fallen sein und mittlere und höhere Ebenen. Der Workshop ist offen für alle Level, auch für Neulinge geeignet. Nach einer Mittagspause mündet der Tag nachmittags in der Underscorejam, diesmal mit einer theoretischen Einfühung davor. Wir beginnen und enden dafür gemeinsam und die Voraussetzung ist bis zum Schluß zu bleiben. Es wäre schön als Gruppe den Tag gemeinsam zu verbringen, es ist aber auch möglich, nur den Workshop oder nur die gemeinsame Underscorejam plus Einführung zu besuchen. Die Underscorejam ist gedacht für alle, die mind. Grundkenntnisse in Contact Improvisation und Jam Erfahrung haben. Der Vormittags Workshop ist offen für alle Level. Liebe CI Community, neben dem langjährigen Unterricht von CI bieten Bernd und Eckhard aus Freiburg auch Workhops zu Improvisation an. Dies kann den Contact Tanz erweitern, ist ebenso sehr somatisch aufgebaut, zielt aber mehr auf Solo und Gruppe anstelle dem Duett im Contact. Der Frühbucher Rabatt für den Workshop vom 1.-3.
